Our colons often take a serious hammering and most of the time this is down to our diets. As a nation completely obsessed with the Fastest Food possible we spend little time thinking about out health.

The problem is, most of this junk Food contains very little nutritional value and so the body will try and get rid of it all. If you keep eating it, it puts your colon under pressure and oftentimes it will fail to remove it quick enough, leaving you feeling Tired, bloated and sick. There are many Foods that you can introduce to ensure you have a healthy colon and you probably won't be surprised to learn that a lot of them contain lots of fiber. The best place to start is breakFast, you can choose from cereals, bran flakes, muesli and porridge which are all excellent sources of fiber. These foods are really quite boring to eat and so I like to add something to make it much nicer. For example with porridge I will add some natural honey to sweeten it up and with muesli and bran flakes I like to add strawberrys.

Fancy a mid morning snack? eat fruit, if you decide to munch on an apple or a pear or anything else with a skin keep it on it contains most of the nutrients.  I also like to eat pro-biotic yoghurts as a snack, they are really tasty and very nutritious. I have also recently started eating carrot sticks, cucumber sticks and red peppers with low fat cotTAGe cheese as it fills me up.

For lunch, most people eat sandwiches and most people like white bread. White bread (especially the really cheap white bread) is highly processed and by the time it's made its way to your lunch box it contains none of the fiber rich part of the seeds which you need. A good colon cleanse recipe will encourage you to make your sandwiches with wholemeal, soft grain and granary breads, they hold the nutrients and are a very good source of fiber. Do not under estimate the amount of rubbish that could be in your food, always check the labels.

For your main meal keep the skin on your potatoes (both new and baked), make sure your Pasta is wholemeal and your rice is brown. Consider introducing peas, lentils and beans as part of your evening meals. As long as you stay away from processed food and Fast food for your evening meal you will be okay. It doesnt have to take a long time either, a chicken breast can be cooked in 15 mins and a salad makes itself!

The best colon cleanse recipe is one that contains all the necessary nutrients to naturally aid your bodies waste process. The problem is, not everyone has the time or even the desire to try and impleMent the changes highlighted above. Why? well let's face it, not everyone loves pulses and lentils.
